hawt and steamy tumblelog action, starring Build this Twitter/SXSW app
This is a quick summary of Going to SXSW, a simple Twitter app I want someone to build for SXSW ‘09. It uses the Twitter API and the SCHED API to help Twitter users connect IRL at the festival.
Once you give the app permission to connect to your Twitter account (no password necessary thanks to Twitter’s brand spankin’ new OAuth support) you enter the dates you’ll be in Austin.
The app then scans your friends list and tells you which of your Twitter friends are attending SXSW on each of those days.
You’re then presented with a searchable/filtered list of SXSW panels, screenings, and parties pulled from SCHED’s database, with a checkbox next to each. Click the checkbox next to all the events you plan on attending.
Now you can see all the Twitter users attending those events, or you can switch views and see all the events your Twitter friends (or a specific user) are attending.
